The conserved Pss exopolysaccharide is a common component of Listeria biofilms
A genetically encoded fluorescent probe is engineered for the conserved Pss exopolysaccharide (EPS) and shown to be a common component of listerial biofilms, challenging the long-standing view that Listeria forms primarily EPS-less or EPS-poor biofilms and identifying Pss as an important biofilm component.
