The utility of zebrafish as a translational model to investigate mechanisms and screen peptide-based therapeutic strategies targeting synaptic dysfunction in obesity is explored and how cutting-edge technologies are accelerating peptide discovery and mechanism-of-action studies in zebrafish is highlighted.
