Distinct Patterns of Intentional and Unintentional Overdose Among Psychiatric Patients With Bipolar and Substance Use Disorders

The findings suggest that psychotropic medications traditionally used to treat BD and other psychiatric disorders are often implicated in intentional overdose, and highlight the need for a focus on prevention of polysubstance overdose across the intentionality spectrum.
