The Circadian Clock Component NPAS2 is modulated by AMPK and Regulates Substrate Utilization and Mitochondrial Function in Human Skeletal Muscle Cells.

The molecular circadian clock coordinates cellular and systemic metabolism across the day, yet how it integrates with energy-sensing pathways in human skeletal muscle remains incompletely understood. AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) functions as a cellular energy sensor and has been implicated in circadian regulatio...

GDF15 modulates mitochondrial content and differentiation-associated metabolic remodeling in skeletal muscle cells.

It is demonstrated that GDF15 promotes an oxidative phenotype in skeletal muscle cells through PGC1α-dependent activation of PPAR and ERRα, identifying GDF15 as an autocrine regulator of mitochondrial metabolism and muscle adaptation.
