Formal Properties of Language as Constraints on Neural Dynamics
It is shown that algebraic properties of language specify invariants that mechanisms must preserve: non-associative hierarchical grouping, commutativity, recursive closure, recursive closure, access to substructures, and structured workspace transitions.
