Dynamism and evolvability in nucleic acid enzymes

It is proposed that threose nucleic acid (TNA), a genetic polymer that is more conformationally restricted than DNA, may be evolutionarily constrained by its preorganized backbone, and the rigid TNA backbone limits adaptability.
