A dominant mutation in tomato DNA POLYMERASE DELTA 1 causes geminivirus DNA replication catastrophe

The mutant POLD1 enzyme reported here introduces mutations into the viral genome during replication, thereby disrupting the function of essential viral proteins, and is a powerful resistance mechanism that plant geminiviruses cannot escape.
