Effects of methyl jasmonate on specialized metabolite accumulation and phenylpropanoid pathway gene expression in Codonopsis pilosula adventitious roots

MeJA-elicited adventitious roots of Codonopsis pilosula rapidly and coordinately activate phenylpropanoid–flavonoid pathways, producing an in vitro metabolite profile that partially resembles that of mature field-grown roots within two weeks.
