Exposure to nitrogen dioxide and the risk of thyroid disorders: Two nationwide population-based studies in the UK and China.

BACKGROUND Nitrogen dioxide (NO2), a major traffic-related air pollutant, is associated with adverse health effects; however, its relationship with thyroid disorders remains poorly characterized. OBJECTIVE To investigate the associations between long-term NO2 exposure and thyroid-related outcomes in two large populat...

Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell-exosomes attenuate lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury in mice by regulating the TGFBR2/Smad4 axis to suppress NLRP3-mediated macrophage M1 polarization and pyroptosis

Objective This study investigated whether adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells-exosomes (ADMSC-Exo) alleviate lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury (ALI) by regulating NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated macrophage M1 polarization and pyroptosis through the miR-19b-3p/TGFBR2/Smad4 signaling axis. Methods An LPS-...

Association between long-term exposure to environmental coarse particulate matter and the prevalence of thyroid disorders: a cross-sectional study in China.

Long-term PM10 exposure was associated with higher odds of overt hypothyroidism, subclinical hypothyroidism, autoimmune thyroiditis, and TgAb positivity among Chinese adults, suggesting that coarse particulate pollution may be a modifiable environmental factor related to hypothyroidism and thyroid autoimmunity.
