A pyoverdine-type metallophore is required for lanthanide-dependent growth in Pseudomonas putida
Overall, this work establishes pyoverdines as metallophores involved in La uptake, re-framing them from strictly iron-scavenging siderophores to dual-purpose metallophores with Ln-binding activity.
