Findings indicate regionally divergent alterations in synaptic organisation, neuronal maturity markers, and autophagy initiation signalling across hippocampal subfields in schizophrenia, consistent with the involvement of both neurodevelopmental and dynamic cellular processes and suggesting their potential convergence.
