Beyond the Thread: Reimagining Online Discussions for Authentic Learning
The study concludes that carefully scaffolded collaborative discussion formats offer a promising alternative to traditional threaded discussions, particularly in graduate-level online programs, and includes implications for instructional design, faculty professional development, and future research directions.
