Playing social deduction games with reinforcement fine-tuned large language models

Reinforcement fine-tuning (RFT) is increasingly used in applications where large language models (LLMs) interact with humans and other agents. Here we use social deduction games to study how RFT changes LLMs'social behaviour. We let fine-tuned and base LLM agents play hidden-role games that require hidden-state inferen...

InterTab: Interleaved Visual-Structure Alignment for Multi-Modal Table Reasoning

InterTab is a structure-aware framework for CoT reasoning over table images that interleaves chain-of-thought with tool calls that crop structure-aligned table regions, and improves the average accuracy of its backbone from 68.28% to 73.17% and achieves the best average performance among all compared methods.

EAVer: Long-Form Factuality Verification as an End-to-End Agentic Policy

This work introduces EAVer, an End-to-end Agentic Verifier that learns to control the complete response-level verification workflow as a unified policy, and construct 794 bidirectional same-trajectory preference pairs that keep claim grouping, search, and evidence fixed, enabling decision-focused Direct Preference Opti...

Unlocking Multimodal Document Intelligence: From Current Triumphs to Future Frontiers of Visual Document Retrieval

This paper surveys the VDR landscape as a retrieval problem in its own right, rather than as the front end of a generation pipeline, and does so specifically through the lens of the Multimodal Large Language Model (MLLM) era, and dives into the methodological evolution along two orthogonal axes.

Unveiling Language Routing Isolation in Multilingual MoE Models for Interpretable Subnetwork Adaptation

A systematic analysis of expert routing patterns in MoE models reveals Language Routing Isolation, in which high- and low-resource languages tend to activate largely disjoint expert sets, and proposes RISE, a framework that exploits routing isolation to identify and adapt language-specific expert subnetworks.
