Oxidative balance-related metabolite signature and incident cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes within the PREDIMED trial.

Most metabolites showed biologically plausible patterns, correlating with specific pro- and antioxidant exposures and including metabolites previously implicated in oxidative stress-related processes, and inversely associated with CVD and T2D risk at baseline.

Revisiting the Links Between Asthma and the Psychosis Spectrum: shared molecular mechanisms.

BACKGROUND Epidemiological studies suggest associations of asthma with the psychosis spectrum (psychotic experiences, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia), but the mechanisms underlying these associations remain unclear. METHODS We examined the relationship between asthma and psychosis-related outcomes using observationa...

Social vulnerability index and inflammation: a proteomic analysis linking social context to biological risk in older black adults.

By analyzing associations between community-level factors and inflammation-related proteins, this study provides new molecular insights into how social context may relate to biological risk, identifies proteomic patterns that could inform the development of community-level interventions, and underscores the utility of...

Clinical Modifiers of Salt Sensitivity: A Metaregression and Risk Translation Study.

It is suggested that routinely measured clinical characteristics may help identify populations with greater expected blood pressure response to sodium reduction, and salt sensitivity varied across age, SBP, and body mass index strata.
