The increasing environmental damage caused by the traditional linear “take–make–dispose” model has led to the need for sustainable economic alternatives. The Circular Economy (CE) emerges as a transformative approach that separates economic growth from environmental harm by promoting resource efficiency, recycling, remanufacturing, and closed-loop systems. Rooted in concepts like cradle-to-cradle design and industrial ecology, CE integrates renewable energy, digital technologies, and sustainable materials. Environmental sustainability in CE is measured using indicators such as carbon footprint reduction, material circularity, energy efficiency, and water reuse. Analytical tools like Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Material Flow Analysis (MFA) help evaluate its impact. Case studies across industries show significant benefits, including up to 30–70% reduction in emissions, over 80% waste reduction, and improved resource productivity. Despite these advantages, challenges such as regulatory, financial, and behavioral barriers remain. A successful transition requires coordinated efforts in policy, innovation, and stakeholder collaboration. Overall, the circular economy plays a vital role in enhancing environmental sustainability and supporting long-term economic resilience

The twenty-first century has significantly transformed literary theory and criticism through globalization, digital humanities, interdisciplinary approaches, and evolving cultural discourses. Traditional frameworks such as formalism and New Criticism have expanded to include diverse perspectives like postcolonialism, feminism, ecocriticism, and digital literary studies, emphasizing identity, power, and cultural context. Modern literary studies increasingly adopt interdisciplinary methods, integrating insights from sociology, anthropology, linguistics, philosophy, and media studies. The rise of digital humanities has revolutionized research by enabling computational analysis of texts, uncovering patterns and stylistic features that were previously difficult to identify. Contemporary criticism also prioritizes marginalized voices, with feminist, queer, and postcolonial theories challenging dominant narratives and promoting inclusivity around gender, race, and identity. Ecocriticism further highlights the relationship between literature and environmental concerns. Using qualitative and comparative analysis of pre-2024 sources, this study identifies key trends such as methodological shifts, technological integration, and hybrid theoretical models. These developments reflect a dynamic and evolving field that adapts to global and intellectual changes, ensuring the continued relevance of literary theory in understanding human experience and cultural awareness.
