Dexmedetomidine versus Clonidine as Intrathecal Adjuvants to Hyperbaric Ropivacaine for Subarachnoid Block in Patients with History of Scorpion Bite undergoing Infraumbilical Surgery: A Double-blinded Randomised Clinical Study

Introduction: Patients with previous scorpion sting may show variable response to spinal local anaesthetics because scorpion toxins can alter voltage-gated sodium-channel behaviour. Ropivacaine and intrathecal alpha-2 agonists may improve block reliability in this subgroup. Aim: To compare intrathecal dexmedetomidine...

Intrathecal Dexmedetomidine versus Fentanyl as Adjuvants to Hyperbaric Bupivacaine for Spinal Anaesthesia in Elective Gynaecological Procedures: A Double-blinded Randomised Clinical Trial

Intrathecal dexmedetomidine 5 µg, when added to hyperbaric bupivacaine, provided quicker establishment of spinal anaesthesia and longer postoperative analgesia than intrathecal fentanyl 25 µg in elective gynaecological surgery.

Efficacy of Dexmedetomidine as an Adjuvant to Ropivacaine plus Lignocaine-adrenaline Combination for Ultrasound-guided Popliteal Sciatic and Femoral Nerve Blocks in Lower Limb Surgeries: A Double-blinded Randomised Clinical Study

Introduction: Single-injection peripheral nerve blocks provide effective perioperative analgesia for lower limb surgery, but the duration of local anaesthetic action may be insufficient for the early postoperative painful period. Dexmedetomidine may improve block quality when used as a perineural adjuvant. Aim: To eva...

Comparison of Sugammadex and Neostigmine on Speed and Quality of Recovery after Vecuronium Neuromuscular Blockade in Adult Patients Undergoing Spine Surgery under General Anaesthesia: A Randomised Clinical Study

Introduction: Residual neuromuscular blockade after non depolarising muscle relaxants is an important concern during recovery from anaesthesia. Incomplete reversal may affect ventilation, airway protection, and safe extubation. This problem is more relevant in spine surgery, where prolonged anaesthesia, prone positioni...
