PURPOSE To improve signal strength and homogeneity of whole-brain diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) at 7T. METHODS Universal multiband excitation and refocusing pulses were optimized with the gradient ascent pulse engineering (GRAPE) algorithm across a database of B 1 + and B 0 maps obtained from 20 subjects. Slice-se...
The results demonstrate the feasibility and reliability of whole-brain human fMRI at 11.7T and constitute a first-quality control milestone to further increase resolution at that field strength and demonstrate the feasibility and reliability of the Default Mode Network in resting state.
