Deciphering growth performance and metabolic adaptation in salt-stressed Vigna unguiculata L. plants through mycorrhiza and titanium dioxide nanoparticles

Soil salinity is a major environmental constraint limiting crop productivity worldwide. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2 NPs) have emerged as promising tools for enhancing plant tolerance to abiotic stress. However, their combined effects on salt-stressed cowpea have not been...

Sustainable management of Zea mays Fusarium Wilt through antioxidant-rich Sargassum aquifolium aqueous extract

Fusarium wilt, caused by Fusarium oxysporum, is a soil-borne disease that significantly reduces crop productivity and causes economic losses. Conventional management relies heavily on chemical fungicides, which raise environmental and health concerns and contribute to pathogen resistance. Despite increasing interest in...

Mycorrhizal symbiosis maintains DNA integrity and cellular homeostasis in lettuce under combined heavy metals and salt stress conditions

This method could be used to cultivate lettuce in contaminated locations by trapping HMs and Na+ ions in the roots, which are not edible, while allowing the edible shoots to develop, and could be used to protect food safety and agricultural output in contaminated areas.
