Functional T Cell Responses Are Associated With Prolonged HIV Control After Treatment Interruption.

Findings indicate that high pre-ATI Gag-specific IFN-γ and CD8+ T cell proliferation responses were associated with an increase in the duration of virological control after stopping ART, supporting a role for CD8+ T cells in sustaining virological control.

In vivo effect of anti-PD-1 on HIV-specific CD8+T-cells in men with HIV

It is shown that a single dose of anti-PD1 increases HIV-specific CD8 + T cells in some but not all participants, and an inverse relationship between an increase in cell associated viral RNA following anti-PD1 and the percentage of specific T-cell clusters prior to administration of anti-PD-1 is demonstrated.
