Histidine 62 in ArfB is required for stop codon-independent peptidyl-tRNA hydrolysis on the stalled ribosome.
It is suggested that H62 contributes to ArfB function during a step following initial ribosome binding, thereby facilitating peptidyl-tRNA hydrolysis.
