Physalin A protects against diabetes-like retinal neurodegeneration via autophagy, mitophagy, and antioxidant pathways in Drosophila melanogaster

PA confers neuroretinal protection in DR-like Drosophila by rebalancing apoptosis and autophagy, activating PINK1/parkin-mediated mitophagy, and strengthening antioxidant defenses, culminating in structural preservation and recovery of visual function.

Therapeutic potential of the Nrf2 activator omaveloxolone in spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 in cellular and Drosophila models

Findings support the protective potential of RTA-408 in SCA3-related models and show its effects were associated with activation of Nrf2-related antioxidant responses, p62 upregulation, and selected improvements in mitochondrial phenotypes.
