The UPR drives gametogenesis via an unexpected response, coordinating translation and ER structure.

It is found that the endogenous UPR that precedes meiosis in budding yeast is required for gamete production but diverges dramatically from previously defined UPR outputs, with only a few characterized UPR targets induced, and mildly.

Identification of substrates of the protein tyrosine phosphatase PTP1B using in situ site-specific photo-crosslinking

The use of site-specific photo-crosslinking to covalently capture the substrates of tyrosine phosphatases in situ reveals previously unknown roles of PTP1B in signaling systems and could be readily extended to other tyrosine phosphatases in the same family.
