Chinese policy on contemporary art and its influence on the development of “art game”

The study aims to analyze how political directives, market liberalization, and global cultural flows influence the production and dissemination of art in China. Methodologically, the research employs an interdisciplinary approach, integrating sociological analysis (e.g., the theory of cultural capital), economic modeling (e.g., regression analysis of auction trends and demographic data), and comparative cultural studies (juxtaposing Chinese and Western paradigms of art). This approach combines qualitative data (interviews and case studies) with quantitative metrics (statistical correlations of regional differences in market participation and institutional support). The findings reveal systemic asymmetry: state policies oscillate between promoting traditional forms (aligned with cultural preservation) and censoring dissent, while foreign investments introduce hybrid models (e.g., the “Saatchi method”). Practical implications extend to the development of policies fostering inclusivity and digital accessibility (e.g., bridging the gap between rural and urban areas in artistic opportunities), market strategies integrating blockchain-based authentication systems to ensure transparency and trust, and educational reforms addressing gaps in entrepreneurial training for artists. The results hold significant relevance for participants in the global art market, offering insights into hybrid investment models that combine state control with capitalist dynamics, crucial for adapting strategies within regulated cultural systems.
