The effectiveness of a herbicide desiccant on grain crops in the South of Russia
Abstract
Grain crops are a strategically important crop for Russia and increasing yields remains the main task of science and production. The reduction of crop losses during desiccation occurs due to accelerated ripening and uniform drying of the green mass. The research was carried out in the II climatic zone of chestnut, meadow–chestnut soils of the North Caucasus region of crop cultivation on the basis of the Pravda agricultural complex of the Khasavyurt district for 2024-2025 on spring wheat of the Voronezh 12 variety. A new desiccant Parma, BP (240 g/l ammonium glucosinate) produced by Chance LLC was studied at a rate of 1.0 l/ha and 1.5 l/ha. The results of 3-year tests of desiccants on their effect on grain moisture and crop yield are presented. It was found that the desiccant Parma, BP, used during the period of full biological ripeness contributed to an increase in yield by 8.6%, the weight of 1000 grains and the weight of grain from the ear by 4.0 and 0.19 g. In terms of the totality of indicators (yield, weight of 1000 grains, weight of grain per ear), it was not inferior to standard desiccants with contact (Sukhovey, BP) and systemic action (GliBest, BP). The results of the study of the new herbicide Parma, BP in terms of assessing biological efficacy can be used in the process of State registration as a promising herbicide desiccant on spring wheat in the studied application standards.
