"Buffalo and Cattle Characteristics Census Survey Dataset 2026"

Sep 2026 · IEEE DataPort

Abstract

"Buffalo and Cattle Characteristics Census Survey Dataset 2026 is a synthetic livestock research dataset containing 500 animal-level records and 79 attributes representing buffalo and cattle characteristics relevant to livestock management and animal husbandry research. The dataset incorporates geographical, breed, demographic, morphological, housing and management, health, reproductive, and milk-production characteristics. The dataset is designed to support research and experimentation in livestock data analytics, machine learning, privacy-preserving machine learning, federated learning, feature selection, classification, precision livestock farming, and animal husbandry decision-support systems. The dataset contains structured livestock observations suitable for exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, classification-model development, comparative machine-learning experiments, and privacy-preserving learning research. The variable structure includes livestock identification and geographical information, breed-related characteristics, demographic characteristics, physical measurements, housing and management practices, health and vaccination information, reproductive characteristics, milk-production variables, and the target variable Milk_Production_Class.The dataset is synthetic and intended for research and methodological experimentation. It should not be interpreted as a direct representation of actual field census observations or as an official government livestock census. Researchers should consider this limitation when using the dataset for model development, validation, benchmarking, or generalization studies. The dataset is particularly intended for reproducible research involving privacy-preserving livestock data classification and can be used as a benchmark dataset for evaluating federated learning, optimization-based feature selection, and machine-learning classification approaches."

Key Challenges in Software Startups Across Life Cycle Stages

It is found that what perceived as biggest challenges by software startups do vary across different life cycle stages, even though its significance decreases when the learning focuses of the startups move from problem to solution and their products mature.
