Abstract
This study evaluates how modern digital communication platforms fundamentally restructure the lexical, syntactic, and pragmatic frameworks of human interaction. By integrating principles of digital linguistics, Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC), and sociolinguistic variation, we examine how social networks function as high-velocity catalysts for language evolution. Rather than viewing online spaces as zones of linguistic degradation, this paper demonstrates that digital environments stimulate a highly structured, democratic, and systematic adaptation to the physical and cognitive constraints of real-time, screen-based exchange. Through an analysis of lexical innovations (such as portmanteaus and "algospeak"), structural compression, and multimodal systems (emojis, GIFs, and memes), the research explores the professional and pedagogical tensions caused by "register friction." Ultimately, we argue that contemporary linguistic proficiency depends on an individual's capacity for bidirectional code-switching between rapid digital vernaculars and formalized academic registers.
