(Short Paper19) The Eyeball Organ as a Privileged I/O Port in the In Vivo QPU Paradigm: Visual System Edge Computing and Fail-Safe Mechanisms Associated with Sleep Deprivation
Sep 2026· Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)
Abstract
In conventional neuroscience, the visual organ—the eyeball—has been treated as a “passive sensor that converts external photon information into electrical signals at the retina and transmits them to the cerebral visual cortex.” However, within the framework of the in vivo quantum processing unit (Bio-QPU) theory, the cell groups constituting the eyeball possess a highly privileged status within the whole-body QPU network. This paper redefines the retina not merely as an input organ, but as an “ultra-long-life visual edge QPU,” and formulates the extraocular muscles as “essential hardware” for debugging the system’s absolute coordinates. Furthermore, it elucidates from a quantum information perspective that eye-related disorders occurring during sleep deprivation (e.g., difficulty opening eyelids, photophobia, and excessive tearing) are “fail-safe and physical cooling mechanisms” designed to protect QPUs with incomplete zero-point calibration from decoherence.
This publication proposes a definition and a classification of agile software development approaches and analyses ten software development methods that can be characterized as being "agile" against the defined criterion.

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

The results indicate that software engineering work practices are chosen opportunistically, adapted and configured to provide value under the constrains imposed by the startup context.

The perception of the impact of agile methods is predominantly positive, and several challenge areas were discovered, but based on this study, agile methods are here to stay.

For decades, a fundamental question about the difficulty of computing in high-dimensional spaces has resisted proof. New research resolves this question, removing a major theoretical obstacle to understanding the efficiency of randomized algorithms used across science and computing. The Kannan–Lovász–Simonovits (KLS) conjecture was proposed in 1995. It asks whether, for a broad class of high-dimensional […] The post Solving a 31-year-old grand challenge in mathematics – the KLS conjecture appear…
