Abstract

We investigate how Heegner points detect the finiteness of the $p$-primary part of Tate-Shafarevich groups of semi-stable elliptic curves over the rationals of \emph{arbitrary} rank with any good reduction prime $p \geq 5$ with irreducible mod $p$ representation and partially recover \c{C}iperiani--Wiles'theorem on solvable points on genus one curves. As a key ingredient of the proof of these results, we also give a concise proof of Kolyvagin's conjecture for semi-stable elliptic curves with supersingular reduction with a relevant choice of an imaginary quadratic field. Our approach is independent of the cyclotomic Iwasawa main conjecture for elliptic curves with supersingular reduction.

Iwasawa theory of CM elliptic curves at potentially supersingular primes

We develop a plus and minus Iwasawa theory for CM elliptic curves with potentially supersingular reduction at a prime $p\ge5$. We construct local points that satisfy suitable"jumping trace"relations using the Honda--Demchenko theory applied to height-two formal groups over local fields with small ramification degree. T...

On Greenberg's conjecture for rational elliptic curves at Eisenstein primes

Let $E/\mathbb{Q}$ be an elliptic curve, and let $p$ be an odd prime of ordinary reduction for $E$, and assume that $E$ admits a rational $p$-isogeny. In this paper we prove Greenberg's conjecture on the vanishing of algebraic Iwasawa $\mu$-invariants of the Selmer groups attached to $E$ over the cyclotomic $\mathbb{Z}...

Average twin prime conjecture for elliptic curves in arithmetic progressions

In 1988, Koblitz conjectured an asymptotic formula for the number of primes $p \le x$ for which the reduction of an elliptic curve over $\mathbb{Q}$ has prime order. Building on the work of Balog, Cojocaru, and David, who proved this conjecture on average in 2011, we extend the result to primes $p$ lying in arithmetic...

Semisimplicity, purity and Mumford-Tate conjecture for hyper-K\"ahler varieties

We prove the Mumford-Tate conjecture in every degree for hyper-K\"ahler varieties over fields finitely generated over $\mathbb{Q}$. The proof establishes semisimplicity of $\ell$-adic cohomology by eliminating the unipotent radical of the algebraic monodromy group of total cohomology. We also prove the weight-monodromy...

The Tate conjecture for abelian fivefolds over finite fields

We prove the Tate conjecture for abelian fivefolds over finite fields. The proof constructs correspondences for a residual motive using a Moret--Bailly family, Gross--Schoen heights, and monodromy. We also prove standard conjecture~$D_\ell$ over $\overline{\mathbf F}_p$ and independence of $\ell$ of rational cycle clas...

Monodromy of Tate-Linear varieties

We answer a question of Chai about the rigidity of Tate-linear subvarieties of $\mathcal{A}_g$ over $\overline{\mathbb{F}}_p$: we show that that a smooth subvariety of a central leaf of $\mathcal{A}_g$ which is Tate-linear at one point is Tate-linear at every point. This is achieved by a careful analysis of the $p$-adi...
