Abstract
Existing generative adversarial network-based methods for SAR-to-optical image translation typically utilize a single-branch generator architecture, which makes it challenging to simultaneously ensure the authenticity of local details and the consistency of global information, often resulting in generated images suffering from the loss of land cover information and reduced edge clarity. To address this limitation, this article proposes a dual-generator framework-based fusion optimization cGAN (DGFO-cGAN) for SAR-to-optical image translation. The method consists of a detail-preserving subnetwork and a holistic-balanced subnetwork, whose outputs are fused through pixel-level weighted optimization to achieve high fidelity in both local texture and global consistency. Experimental results on three public datasets demonstrate that DGFO-cGAN outperforms 11 mainstream image translation methods, achieving notably higher structural similarity index measure and learned perceptual image patch similarity, and generating optical images with clearer structures and richer details.
Experiments on the Nanjing and public SEN1-2 datasets demonstrate that DSAN outperforms state-of-the-art models—including Pix2PixHD, CycleGAN, MSTMNet, and ICMA—in perceptual distribution realism (FID) with the sharpest geometric boundaries.
The findings indicate that CADE is precise and computationally efficient, showing that it is suitable for low-resource remote sensing uses and minimizes dependence on extensive annotated datasets as well.

A hybrid GAN-guided diffusion framework that uses a pretrained Wasserstein GAN with gradient penalty (WGAN-GP) as a feature prior for conditional diffusion-based image restoration that consistently improves the quality of both degraded and low-resolution images.
This paper develops a dual-path generator architecture: the standard path thoroughly extracts deep high-level features, while the auxiliary path preserves prior information and high-frequency details, and introduces a multi-scale feature extraction module to boost the model’s ability to capture features at various scal...

GAN-based image translation has been widely used for cross-domain medical image synthesis. However, most existing methods follow a one-to-one mapping paradigm, requiring a separate model for each target domain and increasing the training cost in multi-target tasks such as multi-sequence MRI synthesis. Although recent o...
