Abstract
Most industrial defect segmentation methods rely on extensive pixel-level annotations and are limited to known defect categories and domains. To address this limitation, this paper investigates cross-domain few-shot defect segmentation, where meta-knowledge learned from a data-rich source domain is transferred to unseen target domains using only a few annotated support samples. We propose an Adaptive Local Prototypes Network (ALPNet). It first formulates support-query matching as an entropy-regularized optimal transport problem to generate robust multi-scale correlation maps. Highly correlated support features are then used to construct task-adaptive local prototypes, which further produce a prior mask for query segmentation. The correlation maps and prior mask are jointly decoded without target-domain training or fine-tuning. Experiments on five target datasets and a practical steel-rust inspection system demonstrate strong cross-domain generalization. ALPNet achieves $\mathbf{6 1. 5 7} \%$ and 69.78% mIoU on ISIC 2018, and 44.81% and 54.43% on unseen steel-rust segmentation under one-shot and five-shot settings, respectively.
A novel few-shot surface defect segmentation method termed FH-Net is proposed, which aims to achieve high-precision segmentation of previously unseen categories using only a limited number of annotated samples and enriches support set feature diversity through foreground- and global-level amplitude perturbations in the...

Few-shot industrial surface defect detection remains challenging because annotated defect images are scarce, defect scales vary considerably, and textured backgrounds can cause false responses. This study proposes a Prototype-Aligned Multi-Scale Attention Network (PA-MSAN) that integrates multi-receptive-field feature...
Few-shot defect segmentation (FSDS) has emerged as an effective approach to address the challenge of limited annotated samples in industrial quality inspection. However, existing methods often rely on features extracted from a single semantic level, without effectively suppressing noise interference, which leads to sub...

X-ray weld defect instance segmentation provides important pixel-level information for automated weld quality assessment in industrial non-destructive testing. However, practical x-ray weld images often contain elongated defects with discontinuous mask predictions, small defects with weak responses, irregular boundarie...

Small-sample visible-light weld inspection is difficult because circular metal surfaces introduce specular reflection, low local contrast, weld-like background texture, and elongated defects that may occupy only a small region after image resizing. This paper proposes GED-YOLOv5, a task-adapted YOLOv5 detector for circ...
