Asymptotic Behavior of Angstmann–Henry–McGann Fractional SIS Model on Complete Networks

Abstract

This paper investigates the asymptotic behavior of the solution to a fractional-order Susceptible–Infected–Susceptible (SIS) epidemic model on complete networks. This model couples integer-order and tempered fractional-order derivatives; arises from the generalized continuous-time random walk (CTRW) framework introduced by Angstmann, Henry, and McGann; and is referred to as the Angstmann–Henry–McGann fractional-order SIS model. To handle the difficulties caused by the coupled derivatives in the attractivity analysis, we adopt an approach based on the asymptotic theory of Volterra integro-differential equations with positive-type kernels. By constructing an appropriate Lyapunov functional, we establish the global attractivity of the endemic equilibrium and further discuss its stability. The proposed framework could avoid the complications and difficulties that arise when directly manipulating the differential forms of the models (such as unifying derivatives or extending the state space).

A Mathematical Study of an SIS Epidemic Model: Global Asymptotic Stability Analysis and Construction of Nonstandard Numerical Schemes

The aim of this work is to provide a rigorous mathematical analysis of a well-known SIS epidemic model with a saturating contact rate. First, we establish the global asymptotic stability (GAS) of the model's equilibria by employing a suitable Lyapunov function in combination with the Poincar\'e--Bendixson theorem and t...

Global Dynamics and Complete Phase Portrait Classification of a Nonlinear SIRS Model with Saturated Incidence

The analysis proves the absence of Hopf bifurcations, thereby excluding the existence of limit cycles and sustained oscillations, and provides a rigorous global description of the system and contributes to the qualitative theory of nonlinear epidemic models.

A Perron–Volterra Lyapunov Function for Mathematical Epidemiology Models with Non-Interacting Rank-One Strains

Persistence, coexistence, competitive exclusion, and global asymptotic stability (GAS) are closely related problems in mathematical epidemiology that are often treated by model-specific arguments. We develop a unified approach to GAS based on Perron–Volterra Lyapunov functions Lp, for multi-strain epidemic reaction net...

Stochastic Reproduction Number and Ergodicity of a Saturated-Incidence SIHR Rumor Model with Optimal Control

This paper develops a stochastic susceptible–infected–hesitating–removed (SIHR) rumor model with Hill-type saturated incidence and compartment-specific Brownian perturbations. The model focuses on when environmental noise changes a rumor’s deterministic fate and how long-run behavior is organized as an invariant law ra...

Long-time behavior of McKean--Vlasov stochastic systems with singular coefficients

We develop a quantitative framework for the long-time behavior of McKean--Vlasov stochastic differential equations with singular coefficients and possible phase transitions. The framework separates the existence of invariant measures from their uniqueness. For existence, we introduce a generalized Lyapunov condition wi...
