Big Data Analytics for Sustainability: A Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric Analysis
Abstract
Despite Big Data Analytics (BDA) having growing recognition as a key player in sustainability, research on big data analytics (BDA) and sustainability is still scattered over the fields of operations, information systems, sustainability management, and digital transformation. Current scholars provide a limited cumulative understanding of a few of the specific issues: the field’s intellectual structure, the primary contributors and collaborative patterns that shaped it, and the thematic connections between BDA-driven sustainable development, Industry 4.0/circular economy/AI, and digital transformation for environmental sustainability. In order to address these gaps, this study uses Biblioshiny and VOSviewer to conduct a PRISMA-guided systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis of 777 peer-reviewed journal articles among 6,021 documents from Scopus indexed publication between 2011 and 2025.
