The publication of Adorno's Negative Dialectics is celebrating its sixtieth anniversary. On this occasion, nothing could be more opportune than to dedicate oneself to a study that presents, synthetically, the philosophical core of this proposal, as well as its origins and potentialities. This is not an exhaustive study. However, given the hermetic character of the text, so often referenced, a didactic approach to its foundations and concepts seems justified. The article begins by examining the central problem of Adorno's philosophical project, as formulated by Adorno himself. It then reconstructs its Hegelian foundations and traces the influence of Marx, culminating in a rigorous interpretation of both philosophy and the social reality of the twentieth century. The guiding question of this study is to elucidate the concept of philosophy that underlies Negative Dialectics. By bringing this concept into sharper focus, the article seeks to demonstrate that Adorno's work continues to provide both a source of inspiration and a significant challenge for contemporary critical thought.
