Abstract

The objective of (Inclusive Education) is to provide equal educational opportunities to all types of students—particularly those with disabilities, the disadvantaged, and children with diverse abilities—enabling them to learn alongside other students in mainstream classrooms. This educational system is grounded in the principles of equality, participation, and social justice. The present study analyzes the concept of inclusive education, its current status, and the major challenges hindering its effective implementation. The study reveals several obstacles in the path of inclusive education, such as a lack of resources in schools, a shortage of trained teachers, overcrowded classrooms, rigid and uniform curricula, and negative societal attitudes towards disability. All these factors impact the successful implementation of inclusive education and impede the holistic development of students. In this context, the role of teachers in mainstream classrooms becomes crucial. Teachers are not merely disseminators of knowledge but also creators of an inclusive and collaborative environment. Their sensitivity, positive attitude, use of diverse teaching methods, and ability to tailor instruction to the individual needs of each student ensure the success of inclusive education. The study suggests that making inclusive education effective requires regular teacher training, the availability of adequate resources in schools, the development of flexible and adaptable curricula, and the active participation of parents and the community. Thus, inclusive education not only promotes educational equity but also contributes significantly to building a just and inclusive society.
