AI-powered translation and grammar correction for English teaching support
Abstract
With the continuous progress of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the integrated application of intelligent translation and grammar error correction (GEC) model in English teaching has attracted more attention. As a key subtask of natural language processing (NLP), English GEC can provide automatic grammar correction and text polishing services for second language learners. Traditional English grammar learning is highly dependent on teachers' guidance, and the limited educational resources make it difficult for teachers to correct students' mistakes one by one. Aiming at the above problems, this paper proposes an English GEC model based on deep learning (DL), and embeds it into intelligent translation software to form an integrated translation and GEC tool for classroom and autonomous learning scenarios. The model is trained on large-scale corpus, and has strong syntactic analysis ability and error correction accuracy. In practical teaching tasks, students can automatically trigger GEC module to check and correct sentence-by-sentence grammar after completing translation exercises through software. Experiments show that the model performs well in GEC tasks and can help English learners improve their grammar level to some extent.
