Anticancer activity of Camellia sinensis and Tabernaemontana divaricata on cervical cancer cells

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a type of cancer which mostly affect in women around the world,to control and prevent the disease condition several methods are applicable in the medicinal and non-medicinal system. Cancer is abnormal condition or growth of cells. Cancer not only affect specific organ it can spread widely in the all human body parts such as kidney, stomach, brain, skin and also intestine. Currently various treatment options concluding the cancer activity diagnosis and treatment. Here Camellia sinensis [green tea] leaves combined with Tabernaemontana divaricata flower[pinwheel flower].The medicinal plants individually contain phytochemicals which are mostly help in anticancer activity and prevention. The combination of two plant extracts by using ethanol combined and evaluated the anticancer activity with more efficacy. Extraction method used as soxhlet extraction and the phytochemical evaluation performed with alkaloids, flavonoids and other phytochemical testing and instrumental analysis performed by ultra-visible spectrophotometer, FTIR and GC-MS. finally this combination evaluated and identified as it can performed with phytochemicals which able to uncover for the anticancer activity against cells. Cervical cancer cells that evaluated with cytotoxic assay of this combination of extracts and it elucidated that anticancer activity increases than the individual extracts. Cervical cancer can treated in good manner according to this combination extract.
