Several isolates exhibited ligninolytic, cellulolytic, and phosphate-solubilizing activities, indicating their potential roles in organic matter decomposition, nutrient cycling, and sustainable agricultural applications, and the value of integrative taxonomy for revealing previously unrecorded fungal taxa in tropical soil ecosystems.
Morphological characterization combined with multi-locus phylogenetic analyses demonstrated that species formerly placed in Penicillium subgenus Biverticillium belong within Talaromyces, leading to their reclassification under the single-name nomenclature system.

Fungi from the order Hypocreales are of significant importance in agriculture and forestry. The genus Marquandomyces (Clavicipitaceae, Hypocreales) comprises ten species, while Clonostachys (Bionectriaceae, Hypocreales) is currently estimated to comprise approximately 100 known species, many of which have been isolated...
Six terrestrial hysteriaceous fungi were collected from litter in dry-hot valleys, China, all exhibiting the typical morphological characteristics of the genus Rhytidhysteron. Detailed morphological examimation combined with RAxML phylogenetic analysis of combined LSU, SSU, ITS, and tef-1α loci revealed that the specim...
Panax notoginseng
is a famous medicinal plant in China. Under forest-based ecological cultivation, its roots harbor a diverse assemblage of endophytic fungi with unique community structures. Some of these fungi can enhance host resistance to diseases and environmental stresses, promote plant growth, and may influenc...
The prevalence of pigmented genera suggests that the ELF community in A. schleicheri may possess specific adaptations to withstand high UV radiation and desiccation, and highlights the Andean lichenosphere as a reservoir of stress-tolerant microbial lineages.

Abstract Fungi in the family Chaetomiaceae are ubiquitous, colonizing diverse substrates and frequently occurring as endophytes in various plant species. Despite their prevalence, knowledge of their association with the Orchidaceae remains limited. In this study, we investigated the diversity of endophytic fungi associ...
