Abstract
This study presents a new method for analyzing the kinetics of glass and melt crystallization of polymers using the Hoffman–Lauritzen model. The method includes two steps: first, the crystallization rate is decomposed into a conversion function and a rate constant, applicable to both isothermal and nonisothermal data. Second, the extracted rate constant is used to determine the Hoffman–Lauritzen parameters, with the method performing best for nonisothermal conditions. The accuracy of the new approach was verified through simulated crystallization processes and demonstrated experimentally using glass and melt crystallization of poly(ethylene 2,5‐furandicarboxylate). A major advantage of the newly proposed approach is its exclusive reliance on multiple linear regression, which guarantees unique global least‐squares solutions without the need for initial guesses or iterative trial‐and‐error methods. GNU Octave/MATLAB scripts are supplied to facilitate practical implementation of the newly proposed method.
The determination of crystallization kinetic parameters is central to elucidating the transformation mechanisms in glassy systems, particularly when analyzed within the framework of the Kolmogorov–Johnson–Mehl–Avrami equation. In this paper, we show that the key kinetic parameters of crystallization of amorphous materi...

A semi-empirical kinetic model is formulated for phase selection in multicomponent concentrated alloys under rapid-solidification conditions. The proposed approach is based on the critical cooling rate required to suppress competing crystallization pathways and combines topology-dependent ranking of crystallization pat...

This study addresses two challenges related to indium tin oxide (ITO) nanoparticle research: the need for reliable process simulation tools and the lack of kinetic models. Two mathematical models describing the formation of an indium tin hydroxide (ITH) complex (ITO precursor), and its thermal decomposition, have been...

The curing kinetics of epoxy resins is commonly described using either model‐fitting or model‐free (isoconversional) approaches. Among model‐fitting methods, the Kamal–Sourour model is widely accepted, but it requires an adjustment to describe the transition to diffusion‐controlled regimes at high conversion. Isoconv...

Despite the high production volume and widespread use of polyvinyl butyral, its synthesis process remains insufficiently modeled due to the complexity of multistage kinetics and sequential phase transitions. In this study, we developed a multiscale, multistage model that integrates acetalization kinetics with a phase...

Abstract This work presents a trend-based mathematical model to optimize and control the pilot-scale synthesis of hydroxyapatite (HAp) via solution combustion. The study establishes a predictable relationship between reaction temperature and precursor mass to overcome typical scaling challenges, such as thermal gradien...
