Abstract
In today’s volatile market environment, organizational resilience—the capacity to adapt flexibly and recover from disruptions—is essential for sustainable development. However, standardized management, which emphasizes adherence to established norms and procedures, is often perceived as a potential constraint on such adaptability. This study empirically investigates the influence of standardized management on organizational resilience, including its underlying mechanisms and boundary conditions. Using data from Chinese A-share listed firms spanning 2011 to 2025, we find that standardized management significantly enhances organizational resilience by improving long-term performance and reducing stock price volatility. This positive effect is primarily mediated through strengthened innovation capability, with investor attention acting as a positive moderator. Further analysis indicates that the impact is more pronounced in non-state-owned enterprises and firms operating in highly competitive industries. These findings clarify the internal logic connecting standardization and resilience, offering both empirical evidence and managerial insights for fostering organizational adaptability and advancing high-quality, sustainable growth.
