Abstract

The article presents a comparative analysis of modern fin types (louvered, wavy, perforated, cellular structures) for application in radiators of shunting diesel locomotive cooling systems. Based on the systematization of data from scientific publications, the advantages and disadvantages of each type are evaluated against key criteria: heat transfer coefficient, aerodynamic resistance, fouling resistance, and manufacturability. Recommendations for selecting the fin type for various operating conditions are developed.
