Abstract
The study was conducted between May and June 2024 with 196 nurses using descriptive and cross-sectional methods to evaluate the subjective and objective aspects of the care provided by nurses. The data were collected using the Nurse Identification Form, Quality Nursing Care Scale, and Patient Care Indicators Data Collection Form and were evaluated using descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis. Ethics committee approval, institutional permission and written consent from participants have been obtained. The mean score obtained from the scale is 4.37±0.47, and the mean scores for the subscales of Physical Environment, Nursing Care Activities, and Patient Outcomes are 4.14±0.72, 4.14±0.72, and 4.45±0.51, respectively. The patient fall rate in internal clinics for the six-month periods of 2023 is 0.39% and 0.49% respectively. There have been no incidents of falls in intensive care units. The pressure ulcer rate in inpatient wards was 0.31%, 0.46%, 0.98% and 1.20% in the quarterly periods of 2023, respectively, and was 0.80% in January-March 2024. In intensive care units, this rate was 2.64%, 2.14%, 2.08%, 3.88% in the quarterly periods of 2023, and 4.44% in January-March 2024. Regarding care, it may be advisable to plan in-service training on topics that nurses require.
A significant positive association between patients' perceptions of nursing students' caring behaviors and their satisfaction with care was observed and strengthening caring behaviors and communication skills during undergraduate nursing education may improve patients' care experiences and satisfaction.
