Abstract
Teaching demands continual evolution to match the demands of the 21st century. Teachers must adapt to ensure top-tier education in such dynamic times in a swiftly changing landscape. This study identifies the professional development needs of K-6 teachers, explores strategies to address these needs, and develops a differentiated professional development plan. This study employed a qualitative research design with a narrative inquiry method to determine the professional development needs of 27 K-6 teachers from a large school in Quezon Province. The findings guided the creation of a differentiated professional development plan to address these needs effectively. K-6 teachers highlighted key areas for professional development, including literacy and numeracy instruction, differentiated instruction, and fostering critical thinking and learner engagement. They emphasized the need to improve assessment skills, particularly in formative and alternative assessments, and in writing Tables of Specification. Developing 21st-century skills, such as research writing, time management, and ICT integration using PowerPoint and Excel, was also a priority. Addressing learner diversity remains essential, requiring training on supporting slow learners, at-risk students, and those with special needs. To meet these needs, strategies such as INSET, workshops, LAC sessions, and mentoring are recommended, supported by essential resources like assessment tools, digital materials, and technology. The study recommends that the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) design targeted training programs, ensure ICT accessibility, and provide necessary teaching resources. District Learning and Development Coordinators should enhance assessment training and teacher collaboration. School Heads and Learning and Development Coordinators must ensure flexible, personalized training opportunities. Future researchers should examine the long-term effects of professional development and technology integration.

The findings indicate that GenAI does not diminish the teacher’s position; rather, it increases the demands placed on professional judgment, agency, and pedagogical responsibility, and GenAI integration should follow a human-centered approach.
