THE ROLE OF PEDAGOGICAL WORK IN KNOWLEDGE CONSTRUCTION IN BASIC EDUCATION

Sep 2026 · Revista de Estudos Interdisciplinares · 0 citations

Abstract

Basic education plays a vital role in shaping individuals and fostering a more just and equitable society. This study aims to analyze and reflect upon the organization of pedagogical work in basic education, focusing on its underlying structure, policies, and practices. The research is grounded in a literature review of renowned authors—such as José Carlos Libâneo, Dermeval Saviani, and others—seeking to understand the complexities and challenges inherent in the educational environment. Key topics addressed include the dual nature of the Brazilian education system, which results in unequal access to knowledge, and the implementation of full-time schooling as an attempt to mitigate these disparities. The analysis examines Libâneo’s views on Brazilian public schools and explores the fluidity of educational spaces as discussed by Maria Teresa Esteban. Furthermore, it investigates school curriculum organization—drawing on the work of Juares da Silva Thiesen—and highlights the importance of structuring school time and space in alignment with the new teaching paradigm. The study outlines the practical implications of these theoretical perspectives for pedagogical work in basic education schools and suggests pathways toward educational practices that foster meaningful learning. It is crucial to emphasize the need for policy reforms that prioritize equity and educational quality, while also highlighting the role of educators as active agents in shaping this new educational landscape.
