Design and Implementation of a Heterogeneous End-to-End Load Balancing System

Aug 2026 · 2026 International Conference on Intelligent Multimedia, Networking, and Security (IMNS) · pp. 1-5 · 0 citations · 7 references

Abstract

This paper presents the design and evaluation of a fully functional end-to-end dynamic load-balancing system implemented in a controlled local environment. The system integrates a heterogeneous technology stack consisting of an Angular front-end, a.NET-based load balancer, Node.js API services, and a Microsoft SQL database, enabling realistic modeling of modern distributed architectures. Using datasets exceeding 20,000 records, we evaluate the performance of multiple load balancing algorithms under varying workload conditions, focusing on request distribution, system throughput, and response latency. Experimental results demonstrate that algorithm selection significantly impacts system efficiency and resource utilization in heterogeneous environments, highlighting trade-offs between fairness, responsiveness, and scalability. The proposed framework provides a practical testbed for analyzing load balancing strategies in realworld application scenarios.

Towards High-Performance eBPF-based OS Scheduling for Serverless Functions

The Linux default scheduler's fairness-oriented design frequently preempts short-running serverless functions, degrading Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) performance and increasing user costs. Existing solutions to remedy this problem propose custom OS scheduling policies based on custom kernels, external frameworks, or us...
