TL;DR

The findings demonstrate that the integration of hybrid encryption and blockchain technology provides a robust, secure and efficient solution for managing staff information while mitigating unauthorized access, data tampering and cyber threats.

Abstract

The increasing volume of sensitive staff information stored in digital environments has heightened the need for secure and efficient information management systems. This study presents a Secured Hybrid Encryption Blockchain-Based Staff Information Management System that integrates Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and blockchain technology to enhance data security, integrity and confidentiality. The system was developed using Python, Hyperledger Fabric, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript and evaluated against a traditional staff information management system using six performance metrics: encryption time, decryption time, transaction throughput, attack detection rate, integrity verification rate and access control efficiency. Experimental results showed that the framework achieved superior performance across all metrics, recording faster encryption and decryption times, higher transaction throughput and significantly improved security indicators. The mean performance score increased from 36.46 in the traditional system to 65.59 in the framework, representing an overall improvement of 79.9%. The findings demonstrate that the integration of hybrid encryption and blockchain technology provides a robust, secure and efficient solution for managing staff information while mitigating unauthorized access, data tampering and cyber threats.
