Developing Google Sites Educational Content to Support Student Autonomy in Hybrid Learning Environments

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The study aims to develop Google Sites–based online learning content to support independent learning and the implementation of hybrid learning within the Technology Education Literacy and Hybrid Learning courses offered by the Computer Education Department, FKIP Universitas Dehasen Bengkulu. This study is motivated by the need for integrated, interactive, and easily accessible learning media that can enhance the effectiveness of learning in the digital era.Methodology: This research utilized a Research and Development (R&D) methodology framework following the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The participants in this study included 13 students from the Computer Education Study Program. Data were collected through expert validation (material and media experts), student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The data were analyzed using both descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods.Main Findings: The results of the study indicate that the Google Sites–based online learning content developed in this research is feasible for use based on the validation results from material and media experts. Furthermore, students’ responses to the interactive e-module were categorized as very positive, indicating that the learning content effectively supports independent learning and the implementation of hybrid learning. The evaluation results also show an improvement in students’ understanding of technology education literacy materials.Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this study lies in the development of integrated online learning content using Google Sites specifically designed to support independent learning within a hybrid learning environment in higher education. This study also provides a practical model for utilizing Google Sites as an accessible and interactive learning platform to enhance students’ technology literacy and learning autonomy.
