Performance of parthenocarpic hybrids of Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) grown under naturally ventilated polyhouse

Abstract

An experiment was conducted to evaluated performance of parthenocarpic hybrids of cucumber grown under polyhouse condition during two consecutive years at Hi-tech Unit, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, MPUAT, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. The results showed that most of the traits under study were significantly varied with different parthenocarpic hybrids except specific gravity. Pooled analysis of data revealed that maximum vine length was recorded for Terminator followed by Infinity, whereas highest number of branches and leaf area were recorded for Kian. Terminator was also found best for first harvest, number of fruits per vine, fruit weight and fruit length. Fruit yield per vine and yield per square meter was also found maximum for Terminator with yield of 3696.68 g and 10.95 kg, respectively. Overall best performing parthenocarpic hybrid was found Terminator followed Infinity, whereas Kian was found least performer in yield per vine and yield per square meter.
