TL;DR

Surgery for small-angle AACE is safe and effective and may serve as a viable option for patients with deviations as small as 10 PD and a base-out recovery point of at least 15 PD at both near and far, pending validation in larger prospective cohorts.

Impact of preoperative deviation control on one-year motor results after intermittent exotropia surgery

In the overall cohort, surgical success was not significantly associated with preoperative control status, age at surgery, age at onset, CDVA, refractive characteristics, amblyopia, anisometropia, deviation magnitude, laterality, and the surgical procedure (all P > 0.05).

Clinical Outcomes of Individualized Office-Based Vision Therapy for Intermittent Exotropia: A Retrospective Cohort Study

Office-based VT was associated with functional recovery in patients with IXT, with greater gains in those who received more therapy sessions and had better baseline binocular function, and Prospective, randomized trials are needed to confirm these findings.

Clinical characteristics and surgical outcomes in exotropic Duane retraction syndrome.

Y-splitting and LR recession are effective surgical options for improving ocular alignment and abnormal head posture in exotropic DRS; however, persistent motility limitation and considerable variability across subtypes indicate that a uniform surgical approach is insufficient.

What is the minimum effective wearing dosage of orthotic intervention in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis?

PURPOSE This study aimed to estimate the minimum effective orthosis-wearing time (MEWT) needed to prevent curve progression and reduce surgical risk in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). METHODS This retrospective study analyzed 281 patients with AIS who completed orthotic treatment. Compliance was measured using...
