Abstract
Having been in business since 2009, Tokopedia is the largest online marketplace in Indonesia, with more than 117 million users. JKT48 uses this site as their official store. The purpose of this research is to describe how customers should be aware of their rights and what to do if the product they purchase does not meet the terms of the transaction agreement. This research uses an empirical juridical research methodology, with data collection procedures including observation analysis, analysis of interview results, analysis of documents relating to applicable laws and regulations, and qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on research findings, Tokopedia provides opportunities to file complaints about products that do not meet standards in accordance with Article 45 of Law No. 8 of 1999 and Article 39 of Law No. 11 of 2008. Research reveals that many customers do not file complaints because they do not receive response from the seller regarding previous purchases, many customers have filed complaints but received no response from the seller, and many customers have not filed a lawsuit because they feel the price of the product is not worth the cost of a lawsuit filed through court.
