Application of Sensitivity Analysis Methods to Increase the Maximum Possible Current Overfl ows in a Power System by the Steady-State Stability Criterion

Aug 2026 · ELECTRIC POWER Transmission and Distribution · 0 citations

Abstract

The topic issue of improving the power system operation efficiency and increasing the maximum permissible current overflows in the monitored sections is the focus of this article. To find a solution, methods of analyzing the power system node's voltage sensitivity are being used. A 14-node test circuit is applied to estimate the effi ciency of methods and the tolerability of possible errors. Sensitivity is suggested to be estimated by example of a real network segment and the use of generalized parameters of the electric network based on saldo-conductance methods. It is shown that the reactive power com- pensation units (RPCU) installed in the detected sensor nodes help to improve the transmission limits in the monitored sections. Besides, they help to reduce the active power losses in the most effective way.
